This bath house is situated in the forested hillside of Carroll, New Hampshire by an existing hiking trail overlooking Saco Lake.
For an immersive experience with all the elements of nature, the bath house is submerged underground, with extruding light wells that direct natural light into the warm, hot, and cold pools. The material use of wood and concrete further explore the visitors' connection with the pools and sauna rooms.
these are four initial light experiments that were the primary drivers for the design of the bath house. To accommodate the different temperatures of the hot, warm, and cold pools and their unique ambiance, different angles, intensities, and positions for lighting were explored.
