This was a six week collaborative effort to build a small greenhouse to be installed in a 4' x 8' planter bed in the Edible Garden in the conservatory.  Our primary client was the gardener to be tending to the produce being housed in our structure.
Using electrical conduit and heat-shrink plastic, our group developed a design that focuses on the seamless assembly of our materials. Our concept was to “coil” our conduit pieces and join the cuts to construct a seemingly fluid line of bent conduit that makes up our miniature greenhouse. Taking into consideration the dropping temperatures of the environment, the plants to be housed in our house, and specific site conditions, we planned for one sheet of plastic for the overall body of our house.
